As a childminder, I am inspected by OFSTED (Office for Standards in Education) regularly, usually every three years, from which I receive an inspection report. This is given to parents so they can be assured of the high standard of my childminding. In my last Ofsted inspection in August 2007 I achieved 3 Outstanding grades and 2 Good grades. I use the whole of the downstairs of my home for childminding which includes a large dining kitchen, a playroom, a living room and a downstairs bathroom. I am also registered to use two of my upstairs bedrooms for my childminding business. Ratios: I am registered to care for 6 children under 8 years of age. Of these 6, no more than 3 may be under 5 years of age and of these 3, only 1 child may be under 1 year of age. These ratios include my own children.
